A Home Away from Home for Cats

More than 30 years ago, my life with animals began. As a teenager, I welcomed my first pet, Coconut—a special needs dog who lived with me for 11 wonderful years before crossing the rainbow bridge. Her passing left a deep void in my heart, and in an attempt to heal, I decided to welcome another dog into my life. But instead of me choosing a dog, Skytzo chose me.

Skytzo—a unique mix of Bichon and Yorkie—was incredibly smart and had a heart full of love. With her, my journey with cats unexpectedly began. She adored stray cats, and to my surprise, they adored her back. As we walked together, stray cats would follow us home, forming an unspoken bond between them. Skytzo had a special ability—if a sick cat crossed our path, she would alert me, ensuring no feline was left behind. This led to my first cat adoption, and the moment they met, they became inseparable.

From that day forward, my life revolved around rescuing cats. I took them to the vet when needed, nurtured them back to health, and ensured each one found a loving forever home. There’s something truly magical about saving a life—the joy and peace it brings are beyond words. Though the journey isn't always filled with happy endings, the fulfillment of knowing an animal is safe and loved makes every struggle worth it.

As they say, "one cat leads to another," and soon enough, I found myself adopting more feline companions—Love and Sky. But with the joy of having animals comes great responsibility. They are not just pets; they are family, and ensuring their happiness and well-being became my priority.
